Itinerary

A day-by-day plan to guide your journey.

  • Day 1: Arrival in Sweden & Welcome Drink

After your arrival at Stockholm Arlanda Airport, make your way into Stockholm city centre. Many travellers opt to take the express train to Stockholm Central Station. Your accommodation will be located nearby. For a more direct and comfortable way to travel, we are happy to organise a private airport transfer for you.

If you arrive early in the day, we recommend spending the afternoon strolling through the city centre. You could go shopping on the well-known pedestrian street Drottninggatan and explore the surrounding area of Östermalm. Here you will find numerous shops, cafés, and restaurants for a perfect introduction to Scandinavian culture.

This evening, you will meet your group and tour leader over a welcome drink.

Spend the night at the Elite Hotel Adlon or similar.

Next, you will go on a guided walk through the medieval cobbled streets of the Old Town where you’ll also enjoy lunch with the group.

After lunch, you get the rest of the day to explore on your own. We recommend taking a short ferry ride to the charming island Djurgården. Here you’ll find some of Scandinavia’s most popular museums, including the Vasa Museum and Abba The Museum. You could also visit Skansen, the oldest open-air museum and zoo in Sweden. Other sightseeing options include joining a guided boat tour of the archipelago or visiting the Royal Palace. Tonight you will dine on your own in Stockholm.

Reviews

We don’t like to brag, so we’ll let our happy customers do it for us.

Exceeded my expectations

The tour experience exceeded my expectations on all levels. Our tour guide, Michelle, was fabulous and a joy to interact with.

Outstanding guide, very helpful staff

Nordic Visitor website was informative and easy to navigate. Nordic Visitor staff were very helpful and responsive to questions and assisting with tour arrangements, airport transfers, and other needs.

Amazing tour guide

Well firstly I have to say my tour guide Michelle was amazing. She was so kind, gave good recommendations and had very good knowlegde and a lot of fun facts. All hotels were very nice with amazing breakfast options, nice rooms and staff.

This was my very first group tour and I'm already thinking about another one with Nordic Visitor. However I would like to say that I would have liked to have a little more information about my group and tour leader before departure. Like for example how many people i would be travelling with, what gender or what age they are and maybe a little info about the tour leader. Other than that it was perfect.

Excellent vacation

We had an excellent vacation through Nordic Visitor. The expertise of our tour guide and small group size of 16 enhanced our experience. We had a good blend of free time and tour related programs. We did arrive 2 days early to Stockholm and stayed an additional 2 days in Bergen. We found this time beneficial to explore the areas more.

Absolutely fantastic!

Our entire adventure from Helsinki to the overnight cruise to amazing Stockholm, the train ride down to Copenhagen. Touring the old town, castle, the boat ride through the canals and ending with Tivoli amusement park was great!  And then 'Norway in a Nutshell' was absolutely fantastic! Unbelievable scenery on the train rides up over the mountains and down into Flåm just wow! Finally ending up in the lovely port city of Bergen. Walking the old town and seeing their process of reconditioning their oldest buildings with the old tools to maintain the ancient look, amazing. The whole experience was made most enjoyable by our wonderful guide Michelle, who was with us the entire way.  She was extremely knowledgeable, very helpful and accommodating, well organised and when there was a small bump in the journey (as can come up on any tour, stuff happens) she would roll right into plan b. Can't say enough good things about our Michelle! She made our 34th wedding anniversary so special. If you haven't done Scandinavia yet these guys are the best! Last but not least, loved the small group experience and will be looking for that feature in all of our future adventures.

Lovely trip

I found Nordic Visitor through a Google search and researched the company through Trip Advisor & Facebook. I took a chance not knowing about the company and I couldn't have been happier.  Our tour guide Michelle was excellent and created a nice sense of community on the trip.  She took care of everyone's needs and I feel lucky to have had her as a trip leader. Thank you so much Nordic Visitor for a lovely trip.

CURRENCY RATE
All bookings are charged in Euros (EUR). Prices displayed in other currencies are indicative only and based on the daily exchange rate. Therefore, conversions from EUR to other currencies will fluctuate from day to day.

AFTER BOOKING WITH NORDIC VISITOR
After booking your package with Nordic Visitor, you will be contacted within two business days by one of our travel consultants who will serve as your dedicated contact person for all of your travel needs before, during and even after your holiday. Your travel consultant will provide you with details about your booking and your remaining payment (if not paid in full). You will also receive more information about what to expect during your holiday.

CARBON OFFSETTING YOUR TOUR
Nordic Visitor is working on offsetting the estimated carbon footprint of your package. We’ve partnered with an environmental fund in Iceland to carbon offset all our tours. Carbon offsetting your international flights is not included, but we highly recommend you look into possibilities with your airline or directly through a local environment fund.
